Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO turns the world around you into a place to explore. Join Trainers across the globe who are discovering Pokémon as they walk their own streets, parks and neighbourhoods — the game maps Pokémon onto the real world, so a trip to the shops or a walk in the park can turn into a chance encounter. It is a global gaming sensation precisely because it gets you moving, and because every outing feels a little different.

At its heart is the simple joy of catching Pokémon and completing your Pokédex. Catch more Pokémon to fill out your collection, and journey alongside your Buddy Pokémon to help make your Pokémon stronger and earn rewards. That companion system gives you a reason to keep walking even between catches, and watching a favourite Pokémon grow stronger over time is satisfying in its own quiet way.

There is a competitive side too. Compete in epic Gym battles, and team up with other Trainers to catch powerful Pokémon during Raid Battles — moments where a group of players gathers, in person or remotely, to take on something none of them could handle alone. Those shared battles are some of the game's most memorable experiences, and they are a big reason communities have formed around it.

Pokémon GO is free to play, with in-game purchases, and it is optimised for smartphones. A network connection and location services help it work accurately, so it is best played out and about. It suits anyone who loves Pokémon, walking and exploring, and players who enjoy a game that rewards getting outside rather than staying on the sofa.
