About Roblox
Roblox is not one game but a platform full of them. Open the app and you can jump into a racing game, a role-playing town, a survival challenge, a tycoon business, a horror map or a fashion contest, all made by other players. Some experiences are polished and story-driven, others are simple and silly, and part of the fun is discovering which one your friends are playing tonight.
Your avatar is the thread through all of it. You can change its look with clothing, accessories and hairstyles, and use emotes to react in social spaces. Because progress and identity carry across experiences, a player you meet in one game can join you in another without starting over. That social side matters: many people come for a game and stay because their group has a regular meeting place inside Roblox.
Creation is the other half of the platform. Roblox Studio, available on Windows and Mac, lets players design their own games and spaces, from a small obstacle course to a large multiplayer world. You do not need to be a professional developer to try it, and the community includes solo creators, small teams and larger studios. For younger players, parents can use built-in privacy and account controls, and the platform includes content filtering and community guidelines.
Roblox works across mobile, tablet, PC and console, so a phone player can join friends on other devices. Sessions can be as short as a single round or as long as an evening spent exploring with a group. It is free to play, with optional in-game purchases, and it suits curious players who like variety — if one game does not click, there is always another world a tap away.
