Plague Inc.

Plague Inc. flips the usual strategy game on its head: instead of saving humanity, you are trying to end it. Your pathogen has just infected Patient Zero, and from that single case you must evolve a deadly, global plague while adapting to everything humanity does to defend itself. It is a unique mix of high strategy and terrifyingly realistic simulation, built from the ground up for touchscreen play, and it remains one of the most distinctive strategy games on mobile.

The core loop is deceptively simple and endlessly tense. You choose where your disease starts, then spend DNA points evolving traits — how it spreads, how deadly it is, and how well it resists cures — while watching it move across a detailed world map. Spread too fast and humanity will notice and fight back; stay too quiet and your plague may fizzle out before it takes hold. Timing is everything, and a decision that looks clever in week one can doom you by week ten.

Variety keeps every run fresh. There are 12 different disease types, each with radically different strategies to master, more than 50 countries to infect, hundreds of traits to evolve and thousands of world events to adapt to. Extra content adds even stranger threats, like the mind-controlling Neurax Worm and the zombie-producing Necroa Virus, and there is also a mode where you take the other side and try to stop a deadly global plague instead.

Plague Inc. is free to play, with optional purchases, and it includes full save and load functionality plus scoreboards and achievements for players who like to chase a perfect run. It suits anyone who loves strategy games, simulation and slow-burn tension — players who enjoy thinking several moves ahead and watching a plan, good or bad, play out across the whole planet.
