Threads

Threads is Instagram's text-based conversation app, built for saying more in words. It is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what will be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you are interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love the same things, or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world.

Getting started is easy if you already use Instagram. Access your Instagram followers with your Instagram username and verification badge reserved for you, automatically follow the same accounts you follow on Instagram in a few taps, and discover new voices along the way. Then share your point of view: spin up a new thread to express what is on your mind. This is your space to be yourself, and you control how you show up in it.

The conversation is the heart of Threads. Connect with friends and your favourite creators, jump to the replies to get in on the action, and react to commentary, humour and insight from the creators you follow. Control the conversation too, by customising your settings and using controls to manage who can see your content and who can reply. The result is a feed that feels closer to a discussion than a broadcast.

Threads is also a place to find ideas and inspiration. From TV recommendations to career advice, get tips and perspectives from people who know what they are talking about, and stumble on topics you did not know you cared about. Threads suits anyone who loves the written word, the quick back-and-forth of a good reply thread, and the feeling of being part of a community that talks about the things that matter to them.
